Psychiatric Labelling

Psychiatric Labelling

I don't agree with everything in this article.  It is well researched and from the psychiatric industry itself, suggesting that materials such as the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (The go to manual of Psychiatry) should be abolished.  The article also points out there are not physical tests for any of the 'diseases' listed in this and other manuals of the like.

No More Psychiatric Labels

This article argues that psychiatric diagnoses are not valid or useful. The use of psychiatric diagnosis increases stigma, does not aid treatment decisions, is associated with worsening long-term prognosis for mental health problems,

The failure of decades of basic science research to reveal any specific biological or psychological marker that identifies a psychiatric diagnosis is well recognized.
